Appointments
Your first visit will involve a tour of our office followed by a complimentary initial exam and clinical photographs. Upon completion of the initial exam we will present our findings and treatment recommendations. If orthodontic treatment is recommended, we will discuss the estimated treatment time and the fees associated with this service. Subsequent appointments will then be scheduled.
Records Appointment At the records appointment, diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays. Some of these records might have been taken during your New Patient Appointment visit. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care. At this appointment, if special appliances are recommended for treatment, you may leave our office with separators (or spacers) to be ready for your next appointment
Consultation After the doctor has evaluated your records, it is sometimes necessary to discuss your treatment with you in more detail. We will discuss any additional findings and the treatment plan options.
Regular Appointments We have put much effort into designing our scheduling system. Our goal is to allow you to be seen on time for your appointment and do all necessary scheduled treatment. This makes appointments as stress free for you as possible and minimizes interruptions to your busy schedule. We strive to accommodate school and work schedules the best that we can. Our advanced computer system helps to integrate scheduling and diagnostic data so that we can minimize your waiting time and complete your treatment on schedule.
Most people seeking orthodontic treatment have other important obligations during the day, usually involving school or work. When active orthodontic treatment begins, each patient is seen approximately every 4 to 8 weeks, and some of these appointments may conflict with work or school schedules.
Please understand that your longer appointments, such as initial bracket placement, appliance impressions, diagnostic records, repair of broken or lost appliances and removal of braces, will be scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Appointments before and after school are reserved for shorter procedures so that children will miss less class time.
Please be on time for your scheduled appointments. If you arrive late for your appointment, it may not be possible to be seen and reappointing would be necessary. Also note that if a patient misses an appointment, it may not be possible to schedule them immediately, as we schedule our appointments 6 to 8 weeks in advance. "Prime Time" appointments are in high demand, so please be flexible. Numerous missed or cancelled appointments will have a negative effect on how quickly your treatment progresses, and may incur additional charges. If you must change an appointment, please give our office 48 hours notice.
At Studebaker Orthodontics we strive to provide the best orthodontic care possible with the best equipment available in a modern and comfortable setting. We are passionate about orthodontics and would love to share that passion with you. We look forward to working with you.
